VIRTUAL: Editing in Hindenburg for Beginners with Otis Gray (2 Sessions)

So you love podcasts and you want to start your own – but how do you take a raw piece of audio and make it into something truly gripping?

In this introductory workshop, radio producer Otis Gray teaches students the ins-and-outs of Hindenburg, an intuitive audio editing software that allows some of the best producers in the game to produce sonic magic. From basic cutting and rearranging, to adding fades, music, and filters – the hard skills learned in this class will help students bring their ideas to life through Hindenburg.

By the end of this workshop, students will know how to take a recorded file, put it through Hindenburg for editing, and export as a podcast-ready sound byte.

All students will receive a 3-month trial of Hindenburg

The class will cover:

  • An overview of Hindenburg

  • Functions of Hindenburg, tools, icons, and shortcuts

  • Cutting tape and rearranging

  • Fading audio in and out

  • Adding music and appropriate music levels

  • Brief overview of filters

  • Exporting for radio/podcasts
