Podcasting 101

Need podcasting advice but can’t make it to the Podcast Garage? Check out the Podcasting 101 video series from PRX and Google Podcasts!

Hosted by podcasting vets Sean Rameswaram of Vox’s Today Explained and Luvvie Ajayi of Jesus & Jollof and Rants & Randomness, Podcasting 101 is a free series of ten short videos covering all the basics of producing your own podcast plus expert tips to bring your shows to a new level.

Podcasting 101 offers specific tips and things to watch out for, but more than anything, the series encourages you to find your voice. As Luvvie says, “Everyone’s ordinary is kind of extraordinary. You’re the only person talking about your experience the way you’re talking about it.” Podcasting 101 will help you tell the world your story.

The live-action and animated videos are in English, as well as subtitled in five languages— Hindi, Portuguese, French, Spanish and Arabic.

Neighborhood podcast list

Podcast to Broadcast

Radio broadcast is a great way for podcast producers to amplify their voices, and the PRX Exchange is an easy way to get your work in front of radio stations. The Exchange was created in 2003 as a non-exclusive platform for producers to offer their work to radio stations (without the hassle of managing file delivery and royalty payments.) Today the Exchange is public radio’s largest online distribution platform, with hundreds of active stations and producers.

The Exchange also serves as the source for content in PRX Remix, our 24/7 stream of  short-form storytelling broadcast on Sirius XM and dozens of radio stations. We love to consider new producers for Remix— once you upload your work, reach out to editors@prx.org.

Ready to get started on the Exchange? We can’t wait to listen.
