We are postponing this event and will contact attendees with a new date once it’s rescheduled. Our team at PRX is closely monitoring COVID-19 in Boston and D.C. As public spaces, we take our role in supporting community health seriously. We are sure you have questions about how this might impact your ability to record, learn, and gather with us. So, we want to share what we are currently doing to ensure you have a positive, safe experience in our space — learn more here.
Join PRX and AIR for a monthly Maker Mingle at the PRX Podcast Garage. Meet other people interested in audio, get advice, and learn about the vibrant podcasting community here in Boston.
This month, we’re joined by special guest Al Letson, the host of PRX’s Reveal and Radiotopia’s Errthang. Al is in town to host Podcast Previews: A Night of Storytelling on Tuesday evening - hope to see you there!
MEET AL LETSON
Al Letson created, hosted, and executive produced NPR and PRX’s State of the Re:Union (SOTRU) from 2008-2014. The program received critical acclaim, and numerous awards, including a Peabody Award. In 2015 SOTRU ended production and Letson joined the CIR and PRX to help launch and host public radio's first hour-long investigative journalism show, Reveal. Reveal has won several prestigious and is heard on over 470 public radio stations and over 1 million downloads a month. In 2016 Letson launched his own podcast, showcasing a little bit of errthang. Errthang is just that, everything: storytelling, radio drama, pop culture reviews, and interviews. Letson is basically taking all the things that are floating in his head and turning it into a mixtape of delight for listeners. A true renaissance man, Letson got his start on stage as a performance poet, actor, and playwright. His plays and performances have been produced off-Broadway and on stages across the country. A self-described comic nerd, Letson has written for DC Comics and published 2 graphic novels. While it may seem like his interests are varied, they are all aspects of who Al Letson is, a storyteller for the new millennium.
