GET ZOOM
Download the Zoom App and register. It’s free. You can load Zoom to either your phone or personal computer. We suggest using a computer for the larger screen, especially for workshops. Having trouble with set up? The Zoom team has instructions on setup here, it’s a quick read.
HOW YOU CAN PREPARE
Find a quiet, well-lit room
Headphones (Please wear headphones for the duration of the event if possible)
Test built-in mic on your computer or headphones
Ensure a reliable internet connection
JOIN US
To join the meeting you will need a URL or Meeting ID. Before class, you will receive an email from a Podcast Garage staff member that will include a link to the Zzoom room and a Meeting ID. The URL will take you to the Zoom. To use the Meeting ID - Open Zoom 5-10 minutes ahead of class time, have 9-digit meeting ID from email ready, click “Join a Meeting” and input that meeting ID.
IN THE ZOOM ROOM
The facilitator/instructor will “greet” you at check-in.
Mute microphone after a quick '“hello”. In the bottom left corner of your screen there is a microphone image. Press MUTE. Otherwise you might accidentally interrupt the event/workshop.
Keep your camera on. If a red line is through it, you are not visible. Part of the experience includes being able to see all your friendly faces.
In order to interact in the group please use the “raise hand” or “chat” function in Zoom.
Click ‘Participants’ and ‘Chat’ on the bottom of your Zoom window. Watch a detailed video about the Zoom chat function.
