Podcast Garage San Francisco
In collaboration with KQED, PRX brings the spirit of the Podcast Garage to the Bay Area at 2601 Mariposa Street in the Mission District. When KQED’s renovated headquarters reopened to the public in 2021, the Podcast Garage supported the activation of the building with educational programming and networking opportunities for the public and community partners interested in producing and developing audio to tell their own stories. Since then, KQED has become a hub for audio creators and innovators in the Bay Area to gather and engage with collaborators and local audiences. Check out the recordings from our past workshops, independent podcasters that we’ve featured as part of the Podcast Community Spotlight, as well as links and resources for audio makers in the SF Bay Area.

KQED Perspectives
Perspectives is KQED's series of daily two-minute commentaries by local listeners in the San Francisco Bay Area, where diverse voices converge to share stories, spark connections and bridge divides by delving into the personal histories and unique perspectives of our communities. The Podcast Garage hosted workshops in collaboration with the editors of Perspectives on how to craft your own radio commentaries. As the community manager at the PRX Podcast Garage at KQED, I organize events and workshops related to audio storytelling, with the goal of creating a welcoming space that is accessible to people who want to mingle with other audio makers, hone their skills in audio, and tell their own stories. Previously, I was a project manager on the PRX’s podcast training team, where I organized and facilitated events and workshops that brought together audio creators in the United States and abroad, including for the Google Podcasts creator program. At PRX, I also managed the Gateway Cities Audio Project, a community outreach and research initiative focusing on bringing podcasting resources to under-served communities in Massachusetts based on their interests and needs. I’m a Bay Area native who carries a bit of Oakland, Taipei, San Jose, and Boston with me, and I can be found biking or walking around the Mission District, searching for good donuts and dumplings.
