Maybe it's because you haven't had much experience in radio or podcasting... Or maybe because you've got so many ideas you don't know where to begin! Whatever the case is, this interactive workshop is designed to give you a start in that direction.

Join Radiotopia’s Adult ISH host, Merk Nguyen, for an introductory podcast intensive. It'll help you build your knowledge and confidence in personal narratives while giving you a chance to practice giving and getting constructive, supportive criticism. You'll also learn the basics of story structure, writing for the ear, and how to not lose your authentic voice along the way. 

No prior audio experience is necessary! All that's required is your willingness to tap into the storyteller potential that's been inside you all along.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Merk Nguyen is a self-described "cis sis with a knack for puns and alliterations.” She currently co-hosts and produces YR Media x Radiotopia's Adult ISH, a culture/advice/storytelling podcast for people getting through their adult sh*t. Merk knows the $truggle of being an independent producer but luckily has had stories featured on NPR and WNYC's The Takeaway. Merk also graduated from Washington State University in 2018 and is a proud second-generation Vietnamese American. In the past year, she's lived in NYC, The Bay, Seattle, and now North Hollywood. Other fun facts: she's left-handed, loves cats (despite being furry allergic) and hopes to one day be a voice actress in a major motion picture.
