[SOLD OUT] You Have A Voice: How to Sound Your Best in Podcasts and Radio with Adeline Sire

So you have a great idea, you create a podcast, you record, write, edit, and suddenly, you’re the host of your own show. Congratulations! But as a budding narrator, did you really tame that studio microphone? Did you project confidence? Many radio and podcast newcomers find it a challenge to know how to read in order to engage their audience.

No matter what the material is, you need to sound confident, relaxed and compelling. In this workshop, you will learn how to prepare your script and your posture for optimal read; get the right tone and emphasis; and find your best voice range. Bring a short script you want to work on, and you will get to practice and track in a recording studio. By the end of this session, you will improve your overall delivery on the air, to deliver your story like a pro.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

ASreportershot.jpg

Adeline is a journalist with 20 years’ experience in radio and audio production. She was a staff member of the daily international news radio broadcast The Worldat WGBH Boston, for over a decade. During her newsroom years, she produced hundreds of news segments as well as long-form human-interest stories. She was a fellow in the USC Annenberg/Getty Arts Journalism Program and the NEA Arts Journalism Institute in Classical Music. Over the past five years, Adeline worked in France as an international radio correspondent. She covered breaking news events, such as terrorist attacks, the migrants’ crisis, Brexit, the French presidential election, the rise of the far-right, and #MeToo. She is currently working on podcasts projects in the Boston area. Adeline studied classical music and fell in love with the mystery of voices on the radio at a very young age. One of the most memorable voice thrills she experienced, way before going into radio was making announcements over the PA system of a very posh Parisian hotel lobby.  But that’s a whole other story.
