What's the best way to learn about audio? By listening! Join us for a group listening session where we'll discuss a diverse selection of audio pieces to uncover the fundamental elements of audio storytelling. We’ll break down the four essentials of a great story, the basics of writing for the ear, and the details that make a tale ear-grippingly good. You'll walk away with a newfound appreciation for the work that goes into constructing these narratives, as well as practical approaches for creating your own audio work.
We recommend this workshop for beginners - no audio experience is required to attend.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Galen Beebe is a Boston-based freelance writer and multimedia artist. She is the managing editor of Ministry of Ideas, a podcast about the ideas that shape our world; an editor at the Bello Collective, an online publication of podcast criticism; and the co-founder of Etc. Gallery, a publisher of collaborative narrative experiments. Her work has been appeared in the Atlantic, Full Stop, and elsewhere. She holds an MFA in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
