Recording and Editing Beyond the Basics is an intermediate course for taking your recording and production to the next level.

You’ve used your field kit, but could use some help with microphone technique, setting gain levels, ambient sound recording, and some of the finer points. Back at the office, you’re comfortable in single-track but could use an overview of multitrack editing, EQ/compressors, and the technical components of feature piece design. 

Bring your equipment, bring your questions, and bring some (unfinished) tape if you’d like. 

About the Presenter

Before moving to Boston, Austin Federa was Digital Content Director for KBIA in Columbia, MO.  He served as social media editor for The Boston Globe, and most recently worked for PRI in Boston. He currently works for a startup, and consults for public media collaborations.
